For the first time since its inception in 2009, 300Deluxe.com now has a homepage. Up to this point, I’ve utilized a very generic “starter page” courtesy of my registrar.
For the past five years, the landing page simply read: “Restification of a ’66 300 Deluxe Sedan. Site content coming soon.”
Coming soon? “Really”?
The plan was, and is to document the restoration of my ’66 Chevelle, which happens to be of the 300 Deluxe variety. In addition, I’ve wanted to add enhanced content, rich media, and useful information specific to all years of 300 Deluxe models. Yes, I realize my target audience would be very limited if the site content was confined to the above criteria. Thus, the information should and will reach beyond that of an automobile model that ceased production over 40 years ago.
Is the timeframe of “soon” subjective? Maybe. Does 5 years surpass most folks’ interpretation of “soon”? Most likely.
So what happened? Life! A new family and new career path have consumed a large portion of this writer’s life. Additionally, I acquired another “car” that allows me to tinker until I have the time and resources to correctly restore the Chevelle.
So when can one expect to see a restoration update, information relative to the 300 Deluxe model, or other useful content such as information on choosing the right storage cabinet? Soon.
